Dear madam/gentleman,
hair removal applications still represent the 65% of all existing aesthetic procedures.
In the last 12 months there has been a real revival on the use of Alexandrite devices, all over the world.
It is worldwide recognized that the Alexandrite wavelength (755 nm) is the best to be used for hair removal. Due to an increased demand of Alex devices, and considering that some important corporations, in competition with us, are suffering in terms of revenues, reliability and lack of technical assistance coverage, this year, we feel that we are in a very good position to gain market shares in this segment.
Thus, in order to re-launch this business in the best way, we have decided to improve the energy of our Alexandrite lasers and ask you to launch them into the market with renewed enthusiasm.
Our new Alexandrite’s energy per pulse has been increased of a factor 25%, as an average.
Now 42 Joule per pulse are easily reachable. This allows the more comfortable use of wide spot sizes.
In parallel, the lifetime of the Alex flash lamp has been also improved, of a factor 40% still working with 25% more power.
The lifetime of a flash lamp is measured in number of shots. Usually, by definition, when the energy per pulse decreases of a factor 25%, the lifetime of the lamp is considered off. It is however still possible, reducing the spot size, since that moment on, to continue working with the flash lamp (prolonging its duration) still obtaining the right fluencies for the application.
With the new Alexandrite lasers of Quanta, after 500.000 shots the energy per pulse decreases of a factor 25% only. The duration of the flash lamp is higher, of course.
As a matter of fact, both the lifetime and the duration of our systems can slightly be improved if smaller spot sizes are used (like 12 mm). In this case the expectations, as an average, are for 900.000 shots or more in these new models.

Notwithstanding a wider spot size typical of the Candela’s Gentlelase, our Alexandrite lasers result faster in treatments, due to their higher repetition rate. Additionally, with the improved energy per pulse, our machines can easily work now also at 16 mm at 1,5 Hz maintaining higher speeds.
The other big advantage consists on the fact that the maintenance costs of our Alexandrite lasers (based on one lamp) are much less when compared with Candela (two lamps based systems).
The new powered Alexandrite units belongs to all Quanta System’s platforms which mount an Alex laser on board (Light, Q-Plus and Matisse series).
The difference in the distributor transfer price, for these powered models, is of Euro 1000 only, for each system.
A great business knocks at the door.
Do not miss it !
Best regards.
The Quanta Team
