Particle Image Velocimetry

Quanta System helps Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) to be more and more an effective method to perform velocity measurements over two/three dimensional flow regions, where particles dynamics are observed simultaneously.
Lasers and custom tailored solutions, with extremely high sensitivity, contribute to appreciate also very week light phenomena - correlated to eventual low levels of scattered intensity.
Laser light sheets, formed at the output of double pulsed Q-switched lasers, illuminate the planes crossed by the seeding particles, while cameras observe the dynamic behaviour of the seeders.
Fast cameras and systems (manufactured by third parties) allow to grab image pairs with high S/N ratio and a special processing software performs all the necessary cross-correlation calculations.
